In
my first few weeks at MTSU, I might've
given you a very crumby answer as to what
that beautiful royal blue symbol stood for.
Now, I know what it means to me and my fellow
students at MTSU: that horseshoe stands for
everything the university embodies. It symbolizes
spirit, pride, community, and tradition.
It
may seem insignificant to many people, which
is tragic considering what it truly means to
the university. I believe it needs to be celebrated
more. It's something that sets our community
apart from the rest.
The
legend goes that anyone who touches the
horseshoe is granted good luck. The simple act
of placing your hand on its smooth metallic
surface infuses you with MTSU spirit that has
existed for nearly a century.
The
horseshoe is truly a gem, and its luster continues to shower 23,000 very fortunate
students with Blue Raider spirit.
