One of the first things I noticed this past
school year was the "Grow Blue" signs all
around Murfreesboro, encouraging the
community to be a part of everything MTSU
has to offer.

Current students know that the phrase
"grow blue" is no longer figurative! MTSU
is expanding to accommodate more than 23,000
students. With big plans in store for the
campus, big changes have occurred.

With the closure of the MTSU Blvd. entrance
of of Rutherford Blvd., a new entrance by
Greek Row has opened up, showing students,
faculty, staff, alumni, and the rest of the
community a view of MTSU that hasn't always
been available. This entrance has become
one of the best parts of my day because I
choose to walk to campus down this road as
opposed to driving. It's convenient, enjoyable,
gets me physically active, and it helps me
save a dime.

Among the locations on campus experiencing
expansion and construction are the Recreation
Center, the gravel lots near Rutherford Blvd.,
the baseball field, and Miss Mary Hall.

MTSU is getting larger. My hopes are high for
people all over the country and the world to
come "grow Blue" with MT.
