When the Alumni Association was formed in 1914, not only was the organization created to keep alumni connected to their alma mater, but also to support the very livelihood of the college – the students. Scholarships for current students are a priority. We are committed to continuing this tradition by offering not only the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, but by also supporting scholarships through the MTSU general scholarship fund.
The Alumni Association is proud to maintain our Blue Raider pride.

The Scholarship

The award is a one year scholarship in the amount of $500/semester ($1000/year). The award will be made to continuing students heading into the fall of their sophomore, junior or senior year. The scholarship is a one year award but students may reapply without priority, as long as a student remains in good academic standing at MTSU, is making satisfactory progress towards an undergraduate degree and maintains a full time course load
(minimum of 12 hours).

Eligibility

Recipients of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship will have strong academic performances along with involvement and leadership while at MTSU. Applicants will have completed 30 hours of undergraduate work at MTSU and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8. The applicant’s academic record will be verified through the MTSU Financial Aid Office.

At least one parent, grandparent, step parent, or adoptive parent must be a graduate of MTSU.

The selection committee shall consider academic performance, leadership, community service, honors, and career goals in making their selection. The committee shall determine the relative weight given to each criterion. There are no restrictions to applicants based on sex, race, and nationality, country of origin, physical disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.
