Enjoy a lecture from David Weintraub, of Vanderbilt University, followed by telescope observing (if clear weather). Telescopes will be set up by the MTSU Observatory. NPHC Step Show

The annual step show, sponsored by the National Pan-Hellenic Council, is held every year during Homecoming as a time for fraternity and sorority members and family members to come celebrate the tradition of stepping. People from all across the state of Tennessee attend this event and the MTSU NPHC holds one of the premiere step shows in the Southeast Region.  Pre-sales begin Monday, September 23 - October 3 at the Blue Raider ticket office at GATE 1A of Floyd Stadium ($12 general admission, $15 floor). Day of sales will take place at the Murphy Center Box Office (northeast corner of building) ($15 general admission, $20 floor). Band of Blue Alumni Day

Band of Blue alumni are invited back to the MTSU campus to take part in the Homecoming Celebration. All winds, percussion, guard, majorettes, dance team, drum majors, instructors, and directors who have ever been a member of the Band of Blue are welcome. Baby Raider Ride Contest

Children and grandchildren of MTSU Alumni are invited to walk, be strolled, or pulled in a wagon in the parade as Baby Raiders if accompanied by an adult. The Alumni Relations Office will host the fifth annual Baby Raider Ride Contest. Decorate your stroller, wagon, or trike with Blue Raider spirit. You don’t have to compete in the contest to be part of the parade. Baby Raiders and their guardians will enter the parade at the Alumni House to walk a portion of the route. Check in at the Baby Raider Tent at Mixer on Middle at the Alumni House between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event. The rides will be judged at 9:15 a.m.

Mixer on Middle Parade Watching Party

Join us as we watch the 2013 Homecoming Parade from the best venue on campus. The lawn of the Alumni House will be filled with MTSU alumni and friends as we get together for an event that is uniquely MT. In anticipation of the redesign of Middle Tennessee Boulevard, the Parade Watching Party will most likely be held somewhere other than the Alumni House beginning Homecoming 2014. Be part of MT history and enjoy the last year of this popular event as we know it.

This year’s party will feature the Voice of the Blue Raiders Chip Walters (’85) and Monte Hale, Jr. (’86) as parade announcers. Be sure to stop by the photo booth to get your complimentary souvenir picture of you and your gang.



Homecoming Parade
10 am

Led by Grand Marshal Darrell Freeman (’87), the parade begins on Maney Avenue, following Main Street and Middle Tennessee Boulevard past the Alumni House to Greenland Drive. A 2002 Young Alumni Achievement Award, Freeman was recently named by Gov. Bill Haslam to represent the 7th Congressional District on the Tennessee Board of Regents, which oversees Tennessee’s public colleges and universities, including MTSU. Freeman serves on the executive committee of the University’s recently launched capital campaign. He is the founder and executive chairman on Zycron Inc., a company that helps hospitals manage information technology, started by using an MTSU dorm room as a satellite office.

This lunch has been a sell out for the past 2 years, so make your reservation early.  The cost is $10 per person, $8 per child 12 and under. The menu will be Pulled Pork with Raspberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce, White BBQ Sauce, and Zesty Traditional BBQ Sauce, Corn Dusted Buns, Chicken Tenders, Creamy Cole Slaw, Cilantro Sweet Potato Slices, Grilled Vegetable Medley, Cookies and Brownies, Soft Drinks and Water.
