us as we watch the 2010 Homecoming Parade from the best venue on campus. The
lawn of the Alumni House will be filled with MTSU alumni and friends as we get
together for an event that is uniquely MT. This year’s party will feature the
Voice of the Blue Raiders Chip Walters (’85), and WSMV Channel 4 meteorologist Nancy
Van Camp (’95) as parade announcers. A complimentary breakfast with coffee and
juice will be served while it lasts. A photo booth where you can take a
souvenir picture of you and your gang is sponsored by the MTSU National Alumni
Association Board.

Actor
Lane Davies (’72) will lead this year’s parade as Grand Marshal. The parade begins
on Maney Avenue, following Main Street and Middle Tennessee Boulevard past the
Alumni House to Greenland Drive.
Baby Raider Ride
Contest
Children
and grandchildren of MTSU Alumni are invited to walk, be strolled, or pulled in
a wagon in the parade as Baby Raiders if accompanied by an adult. The Alumni
Relations Office will host the second annual Baby Raider Ride Contest. Decorate
your stroller, wagon, or trike with Blue Raider spirit. You don’t have to
compete in the contest to be part of the parade. Baby Raiders and their
guardians will enter the parade at the Alumni House to walk a portion of the

to enter. Registration entries must be received by October 20.

the Center for Popular Music Celebration. Established in 1985 as one of just
sixteen Centers of Excellence at universities in the Tennessee Board of Regents

to the study of American popular music from the pre-revolutionary era to the

all Urban Planning, Public Administration, and Political Science alumni and/or
any students who were fortunate to have Currey Peacock as a professor/mentor
back in the days (late 1960’s – late 1980’s). This reunion will celebrate the
influence Currey Peacock had upon so many students during his teaching at the
university. A tent will be in Walnut Grove after the parade for Currey
Peacock’s friends and former students to gather for lunch and to catch up. Contact

Tangerine Bowl Football Teams Reunion

Both the 1959 and 1961 Blue Raider football
teams earned post-season invitations to the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
The Tangerine Bowl later became what is no known as the Citrus Bowl. There will
be a pre-game reception on Saturday for the players and families of these two
